Diane Shipley, former head volleyball coach at State Fair Community College, has been selected as the next head volleyball coach at Central Methodist University, announced CMU Interim Vice President for Campus Life Richard Davis.

Shipley began as an assistant coach at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Mo., in August 1998, serving in that role for six years, before taking over as the head coach. During her five years as head coach, Shipley compiled a record of 107-85. In 2006, Shipley was selected as the NJCAA Division I Region 16 Coach-of-the-Year. She coached 21 All-Region players and two Academic All-Americans while at State Fair.

In addition to her coaching experience at State Fair, Shipley has coached USA club volleyball for 17 years. In that time, she has accumulated numerous tournament championships and top regional finishes.

"We are very pleased and feel quite fortunate that Coach Shipley is joining the CMU family," Davis said. "Her experience at the junior college level, as well as the club volleyball arena, will be beneficial as she recruits high-level student-athletes to Central Methodist University."
