Central Methodist led much of the first game, getting out to a 7-4 lead after back-to-back kills by seniors Erica LaBoube (Berger, Mo.) and Nikki Torno (St. Louis, Mo.). The Lions recorded cut the lead to 7-6, but CMU ran off three straight points off a kill and solo block by junior Taylor Reed (Toledo, Ohio), and a Lindenwood error. Lindenwood again rallied to cut the lead to 10-8, before a kill by sophomore Paige Shipley (Sedalia, Mo.) made it 11-8. After a Lindenwood error made it 15-12 in favor of CMU, the Lions answered with four straight points to take the lead at 16-15. A kill by senior Sarah Greenlee (Pevely, Mo.) and an ace serve by sophomore Kristi Miller (Sedalia, Mo.) gave CMU the lead back at 17-16. The two teams went point-for-point, remaining tied at 19-19, but Lindenwood scored six of the last seven points of the game to win 25-20. In games two and three, Lindenwood took control early, and was able to cruise to the 14-25 and 7-25 wins, respectively.
