The Lady Eagles had 24 attacking errors, and finished with a negative hitting percentage in the match. Central Methodist finished with just 16 kills in the loss. The Lady Eagles played well defensively, recording 35 digs, but their offensive struggles kept them from pushing Baker.
Senior Taylor Reed (Toledo, Ohio) had a team-high five kills. Junior Sarah Lewey (Kansas City, Mo.) tallied eight assists. Senior Melanie Touchette (Millstadt, Ill.) and sophomore Jennifer Garrett (Higginsville, Mo.) finished with seven digs each, while Lewey and junior Rebecca Edwards (Jefferson City, Mo.) each had six digs for the Lady Eagles.
Central Methodist fell to 3-10 overall and 0-4 in the HAAC, while Baker improved to 13-10 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. CMU will try to snap a five-match losing skid when the team travels to Fulton, Mo., for the Mid-Missouri Triangular at Westminster College. CMU will take on Westminster at 4 p.m., followed by a match against William Woods University at 6.
