SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Evangel won its ninth-straight match Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Central Methodist in Heart of America Athletic Conference action at the Ashcroft Center.
Evangel (19-11, 6-2) won the first set 25-12 and rallied from being behind to Central Methodist (16-11, 2-6) 21-19 in the second set to win 25-23. The Crusaders completed the sweep with a 25-14 win in the third, winning the match on an ace from Morgan Smith.
Micah Cribbs led Evangel with 14 kills while Morgan Kensinger added four blocks. Morgan Smith chipped in 18 digs.
Central Methodist ends the regular season Tuesday, Nov. 5, with a Senior Day match against Baker (Kan.) at 7 p.m. CT in Puckett Fieldhouse.
