CMU splits two matches in Triangular

FAYETTE, Mo. - The Eagles went 1-1 in the Central Methodist Triangular, held Wednesday inside Puckett Field House. The Green and Black defeated Bacone (Okla.) 3-0 by scores of 25-23, 25-17 and 25-20 before losing to William Woods (Mo.) 3-1 by scores of 25-20, 21-25, 16-25 and 22-25.�

Central Methodist's (9-16) Jordan Jackson totaled 14 kills and a .393 hitting percentage in the win against Bacone (6-14). Andrea Lopez came up with 19 digs, while Lindsay Smith and Hannah Willis each had 12. Danni Guseman had nine digs. Melody Hanson totaled 21 assists and six digs, while Katelyn Waddell had 12 assists. Julia Weber had three of the team's eight block assists.

Jade Tigilau had a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs for the Warriors. Toree Misa'alefua also had a double-double with 19 assists and 11 digs.

Emily Becker had 16 kills in the final match of the night for William Woods (16-11). Abbie O'Mara had 29 digs. Brittany Engelbrecht posted a double-double, dishing out 51 assists while getting 12 digs.

Jackson tallied 11 kills in the loss to the Owls. Smith poured in a double-double with 13 digs and 10 kills to go along with a hitting percentage of .333. Hanson also added a double-double with 17 assists and 11 digs. Lopez had a team-high 21 digs. Dana Peters and Madison Bond each had two of the team's six block assists.

Central Methodist hosts Benedictine-Springfield (Ill.) on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. CT.
