2014 All-HAAC Teams
KANSAS CITY - Central Methodist's Jordan Jackson, Andrea Lopez, Dana Peters and Lindsay Smith have been named to the 2014 All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Volleyball Teams, the league office announced Tuesday. Jackson was a first-team pick for the second-straight season. Lopez was named to the second team, while Peters and Smith were honorable mention selections.
Jackson, a senior outside hitter from Blue Springs, Mo., ranked third in the league in hitting percentage (0.299) and fifth in kills per set (3.0). In 30 matches, she posted 313 kills, 18 assists, 36 digs and 53 total blocks.
Lopez, a senior libero from Kansas City, ranked second in the conference and 33rd in the NAIA in digs per set (5.3). She was also tied for fifth in the HAAC in service aces per set (0.3). In 30 matches, she posted 32 service aces and 555 digs. Lopez was named�HAAC Libero of the Week on Nov. 3.
Peters, a senior right-side hitter from Waverly, Mo., is an All-HAAC mention for the third-consecutive season. In 30 matches, she posted 153 kills, 26 assists, 26 digs and 60 total blocks.
Smith, a junior outside hitter from Gainesville, Fla., tied for fifth in the HAAC in service aces per set (0.3) and ranked 16th in kills per set (2.4). In 30 matches, she posted 245 kills, 19 assists, 30 service aces, 264 digs and 27 total blocks.
Culver-Stockton (Mo.) junior outside hitter Kamrin Gold was voted the league's Attacker of the Year for the second-straight season and Player of the Year. Culver-Stockton senior Casey Giovanazzi was chosen the Setter of the Year. MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) middle blocker Taylor Cowan was named the Freshman of the Year, while the Pioneers' Molly Brewster was picked as the Assistant Coach of the Year. Evangel (Mo.) coach Mary Whitehead was honored as the Coach of the Year, while Crusader junior Morgan Smith was chosen the Libero of the Year.
