Volleyball Falls Twice Friday At The Viking Invitational
Marshall, Mo. The 2015 season began for the Central Methodist University volleyball team on Thursday afternoon, with the Eagles dropping both of their matches against Texas Wesleyan University and Ottawa University by finals of 3-2 and 3-1 respectively.

In the first match of the day, the Eagles faced a tough Texas Wesleyan squad. CMU stormed past the Rams in the first set 25-13, before falling in the second set 25-20. CMU came back and won a close third set 25-22, before dropping the final two sets 25-22 and 15-6. With the loss, CMU moved to 0-1 on the young season, while Texas Wesleyan improved to 3-2.

The second match of the day saw CMU match up with the Ottawa University Braves. Ottawa jumped on the Eagles early by taking the first set 25-12. CMU roared back with a 25-19 victory in the second set to even the score at a set apiece. However, the Braves took control from there, winning the next two sets 25-14 and 25-15. With the loss, CMU falls to 0-2 on the season.

Central Methodist will close out play at the Viking Invitational tomorrow (Saturday)�against Tabor College and The College of the Ozarks. The Eagles first home match will comes on September 9th, when CMU hosts William Penn University at 7pm inside of Puckett Field House.
