Kansas City, Mo. The Central Methodist University volleyball team continued their streak of winning this past weekend, going a perfect 4-0 in the Avila Tournament. The Lady Eagles win streak has now hit nine straight matches, with 7^th ranked Park University becoming the latest victims to fall to CMU.

With the perfect weekend, the Lady Eagles see their record climb to 10-4 overall and remain 1-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. Along with the nine match win streak, the Lady Eagles improve to 8-3 this season on a neutral court with their four victories this weekend.

The first match of the tournament sent CMU up against Bethel College on Friday afternoon. The Lady Eagles cruised to a 3-1 victory, with finals of 25-15, 25-27, 25-11, and 25-15. Darcy Latham and Marina Alves led the team in kills with 14 and 11 respectively.

In the second match of the day on Friday, CMU battled with the Bethany College Swedes. The Lady Eagles came out victorious once 3-1, this time by finals of 25-14, 25-13, 15-25, and 25-15. Darcy Latham led all CMU scorers with 17 kills, and Marina Alves and Madison Bond both finished with 12 kills each.

The dominance of Central Methodist carried on into Saturday. In the first match of the day, the Lady Eagles disposed of Haskell Indian Nations University 3-0, by finals of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-19.� In this quick three set match, the Lady Eagles received contributions from Erin Dodd with her 15 digs and Savvy Hughes finished with 22 assists.

The final match of the Avila Tournament brought with it a lot of intrigue. The suddenly hot Lady Eagles squad saw themselves matched up with the 7^th ranked Park Pirates. This match would go all five sets and it was a battle from the beginning. CMU would come out victorious, but faced their toughest competition of the weekend and possibly the season. Final scores were 22-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-22, and 15-13. Leaders for CMU were Darcy Latham with 16 kills, Savvy Hughes with 30 assists and Erin Dodd finished with 26 digs.

The Lady Eagles return to conference play this week, when they travel to face Culver-Stockton this Tuesday at 7pm. CMU won't return to Fayette until September 25^th, when they welcome Hannibal-LaGrange to town for a non-conference match beginning at 7pm.
