With the victory, the Lady Eagles improve to 15-5 overall, while Stephens College falls to 5-12 overall.

To kickoff Family Weekend on the campus of Central Methodist University, the Lady Eagles volleyball team gave the fans a show to remember. CMU defended their home court and defeated the Stephens College Stars in straight sets on Friday evening.
�
The first set was close, as both teams struggled a bit out of the gate. Central Methodist took the first set 25-20. With that momentum, CMU cruised to a victory in the second set by a score of 25-14.
�
In the third and final set, the Stephens Stars came alive. The Stars controlled the tempo for the first half of the set. Central Methodist was able to rally and hold on down the stretch for the 25-22 victory.
�
Central Methodist as a team had 42 kills, to just 27 for Stephens College. The Lady Eagles also served up 11 aces, while the Stars had just three.

Lindsey Smith and Darcy Latham had 13 and 12 kills respectively to lead CMU. Savvy Hughes led the Lady Eagles with 20 assists on the night.
�
The Lady Eagles hit the road for five straight matches, beginning on Tuesday in Marshall against Missouri Valley College. CMU returns home to Fayette on October 13th to host Peru State College at 6pm inside of Puckett Field House in Heart of America Athletic Conference showdown.
