Springfield, Mo. The Central Methodist University Lady Eagles volleyball team fell to the 2^nd seeded Evangel University Crusaders on Saturday afternoon 3-0 in a Heart of America Athletic Conference postseason quarterfinal match. Final scores were 27-25, 25-17, and 25-15.

With the loss, Central Methodist see's their season come to a close with a 26-10 overall record and a final record of 5-6 in The Heart. With the victory, the 11^th ranked Evangel Crusaders improve to 36-4 overall and 10-1 in The Heart.

The first set was the closest one of the match, as the Eagles and Crusaders battled back-and-forth. In the end, Evangel would pull away late and win by the narrowest of margins, 27-25.

The Crusaders controlled both the second and third sets over Central Methodist, proving to be too strong for the Lady Eagles. Evangel won the second set 25-17 and the third set 25-15.

In defeat, Lindsay Smith led Central Methodist with 14 kills, while Savvy Hughes led the team in assists with 22. Darcy Latham led the Lady Eagles with a team high 20 digs.
