Six Eagles Named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar Athletes

Fayette, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that 487 volleyball student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Among the 487 student-athletes honored were Central Methodist's Katelyn Waddell (SR/Loveland, Colo.), Miranda Dahman (JR/Harrisonville, Mo.), Melody Hanson (SR/Spring Hill, Kan.), Madison Bond (JR/Jefferson City, Mo.), Darcy Latham (JR/Bismark, Mo.), and Erin Dodd (SR/Pittsburg, Ill.).

"I am very proud of our student athletes," said CMU head volleyball coach Allison Jones-Olson. "They work extremely hard on the court and in the classroom. This is an award that recognizes their dedication to their studies."

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
