FAYETTE, Mo. ---- The Central Methodist volleyball team earned its fourth consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference win over Graceland University Friday night in three straight sets.
NOTES
• Central Methodist improved to 19-10 (10-4) on the year. Graceland fell to 10-15 (4-11).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Darcy Latham led the way for the Eagles with her second consecutive double-double on 11 kills with 11 digs.
• Shannon Peters finished with 34 assists, four digs, two block assists and one kill.
• Madison Bond added nine kills with six block assists and one solo block.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Graceland led early throughout the first set, after an attacking error from the Central Methodist gave the Yellowjackets a 12-9 lead.
• Graceland still held the advantage after a kill from Brunner to lead 18-15, however a 4-0 run from Central Methodist gave the Eagles their first lead 19-18.
• Central Methodist finished the first set on a 6-2 run to win 25-21, after a ball handling error from Graceland.
• After an early Graceland lead in set two, Central Methodist led 10-6 after a kill from Latham.
• Another 4-0 run gave Central Methodist an 18-10 lead after a kill from Janjusevic.
• An attacking error from Graceland gave set two to Central Methodist 25-15.
• Central Methodist jumped out to an early 9-4 lead in set three, after a kill from Limback.
• Another kill from Limback gave Central Methodist a commanding 20-13 lead. A kill from Germann put Central Methodist ahead 24-17, and the final point came off the hands of Bond to secure the match win for the Eagles, 25-17.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Central Methodist totaled 39 kills in the match, while Graceland finished with 25.
• Central Methodist led in assists 36-24 over Graceland.
• Central Methodist finished with 42 digs, while Graceland totaled 32.
• Graceland tallied 10 block assists for five total blocks, as Central Methodist led with two solo blocks and 12 assisted for eight total.
