FAYETTE, Mo. ---- The Central Methodist volleyball team fell to MidAmerica Nazarene University Saturday afternoon in five sets.
NOTES
• Central Methodist fell to 22-11 (13-5) on the year. MidAmerica improved to 23-9 (15-4).
• Central Methodist won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-15, before MidAmerica won the final three, 27-25, 25-16 and 15-13.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Marija Janjusevic led the Eagles offensively with 17 kills.
• Darcy Latham finished with another double-double on 15 kills and 21 digs. Madison Bond added 12 kills, and Limback finished with 11.
• Shannon Peters totaled 50 assists in the match with 10 digs and four kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Central Methodist took an early 4-2 lead in set one, but MidAmerica responded to lead by two after a kill from Sanches.
• Central Methodist led the remaind of the opening set, and an attacking error from MidAmerica gave the Eagles a 25-20 set win.
• The second set was tied 7-7 early, but Central Methodist edged out a 12-10 lead.
• The Eagles finished the match on a 13-5 run for a dominating 25-15 win in set two.
• Set three continued to be back-and-forth, as the game was tied at 8 after a kill from MidAmerica.
• Central Methodist led 17-12, however MidAmerica responded to take a late 21-20 lead.
• Central Methodist looked to close out the match leading 24-21, but MidAmerica won the third set 27-25, after defending four match points for the Eagles.
• MidAmerica used the momentum from set three to carry a set four win 25-16, and finished the set on a 7-0 run to force a fifth set.
• The fifth set featured 10 score ties, as both teams were seeking the key Heart match win. Tied at 13, MidAmerica closed out the match with back-to-back kills from Strazzeri to win the match 15-13.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Central Methodist totaled 67 kills in the match, while MidAmerica finished with 54.
• Central Methodist led in assists 57-50 over MidAmerica.
• Central Methodist also held the advantage in digs, 83-79, over MidAmerica.
• MidAmerica tallied 12 block assists and four solo blocks for 10 total, as Central Methodist finished with one solo block and 12 assisted for six total.

• The Eagles will return to action Tuesday, October 31, when they finish the regular season against Baker University at 7 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
