Atchison, Kan. - The No. 10 Central Methodist volleyball program completed the sweep over Benedictine College, claiming victory over the Ravens in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-19 Wednesday night in Atchison, Kan. 

With the win, Central improves to 9-3 overall and 7-3 in the conference. Benedictine falls to 7-7 and 5-6 in the Heart. The Eagles currently sit in a tie for second place in the South Division along with Evangel, and two games back from Heart newcomer Park University. 

The Eagles posted a balanced offensive attack with strong defense in the three-set win, as CMU held Benedictine to a .059 hitting percentage for the match including 26 errors. Four different Eagles also collected five or more kills. Grace Stumbaugh and Callie Henson led the offense with nine kills each, followed by Jordan Wolfe who added six. Delaney Miller finished the evening with five kills while Anna Wolf and Annabelle Maassen recorded three apiece.

Shannon Peters dished out a team-high 18 assists paired with nine digs, nearly missing out on a double-double. Elise Hardesty-Irvin also recorded double-digit assists with 10. Krystal Brauner led the defense with 21 digs and two service aces while Genna Nickelson added 10 digs and one service ace.

Wolf finished the match with five block assists, followed by Jordan Wolfe who added four, and Henson and Stumbaugh collected three block assists each. 

Central will host Baker University Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Puckett Fieldhouse. The match will also serve as senior day, as the 2020 senior volleyball class will be honored after the match.
