Fayette, Mo. - No. 12 Central Methodist volleyball posted its third consecutive sweep, defeating rival Missouri Valley College in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-11, and 25-21 Tuesday night in Puckett Field House. 

With the victory, Central improves to 13-2 and 3-0 in the Heart, while the Vikings fall to 6-12 and 1-3 in conference play. 

CMU's offense came out swinging, finishing set one with a .357 hitting percentage on 13 kills, nearly taking the first set by double-digits. Central rolled in set two, as the defense only allowed 11 Viking points, before sealing the match with a 25-21 win in the third set. 

Annabelle Maassen led the offense with nine kills on 23 swings, while Delaney Miller, Grace Unnvik, and Callie Henson each collected seven kills. Unnvik was the most efficient of Central's hitters, finishing the evening with an outstanding .778 hitting percentage.

Gabi Owczarek dished out a match-high 17 assists while Marina Alonso recorded 14. Maassen led the defense with 11 digs, nearly earning a double-double. Jordan Wolfe, Unnvik, and Miller each talled three block assists, while Henson and Wolfe recorded two solo blocks each. 

Overall, the CMU offense finished the evening with a .302 hitting percentage, compared to just .039 for Missouri Valley College. 

The Eagles remain at home for the second match of a three-match homestand against Clarke University Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
