Fayette, Mo. - The No. 10 Central Methodist volleyball team picked up two more victories in straight sets over Heart South Division foes Baker University and Benedictine College this weekend.
Central's overall record now stands at 22-3 and 13-1 in Heart play. CMU opened the weekend with a sweep of Baker by scores of 25-23, 25-12, and 25-22 Friday night in Puckett Field House.
Against the Wildcats, Sydney Healy tallied 12 kills on 22 swings to lead the Ealges' offense. Grace Unnvik finished the evening with nine kills, an assist, and three blocks.
The duo of Jordan Wolfe and Callie Henson collected seven kills apiece, while Annabelle Maassen recorded six. Wolfe also tallied three blocks to match Unnvik, while Marina Alonso once again led the setters with a team-high 20 assists, followed by Yenne Schepers with 16.
Krystal Brauner recorded double-digit digs with 19 as did Maassen with 11.
Overall, the CMU defense held the Wildcats to a .184 attack percentage including 14 errors.
Central followed Friday night's victory with another sweep, this time against Benedictine College by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-19 Saturday afternoon in Atchison.
Healy once again led the Eagles' offense with 13 kills on 20 swings for an impressive .550 attack percentage. Henson also landed in double figures with 10 kills.
The Eagles' offense finished the afternoon with a .389 attack percentage compared to just .135 for the Ravens.
Alonso dished out a team-high 23 assists while Schepers added 13.
Central's defense overpowered Benedictine, as CMU recorded 20 total blocks, led by Unnvik seven. Henson added four blocks, and Healy, Delaney Miller, and Wolfe each tallied three.
The Eagles return to Puckett Field House for a huge showdown against No. 4 Park Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m. The Pirates took the first match up in four sets back on Sept. 28 in Parkville, Mo.
