Fayette, Mo. - The No. 16 Central Methodist Volleyball program earned its fourth consecutive sweep, defeating rival Missouri Valley College in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-10, and 25-16 Tuesday night inside Puckett Field House.
Central improves its overall record to 12-4 and 6-3 in conference action, while the Vikings fall to 11-12 and 2-7 in the Heart. CMU is also a winner of five straight matches, all coming in straight sets.
The Eagles' offense was extremely efficient, as four hitters finished the evening hitting over .450. Callie Henson tallied 13 kills on 19 swings for a .632 hitting percentage. She also added a pair of digs and two blocks.
Joana Milho added eight kills on 13 attempts, while Delaney Miller tallied seven kills and Sydney Healy six. Senior setter Marina Alonso dished out a match-high 24 assists paired with 14 from Gabi Owczarek.
The duo of Krystal Brauner and Annabelle Maassen recorded 11 and 10 digs respectively.
Central's defense held Missouri Valley to a .066 hitting percentage on the evening, including -.192 in the second set. Miller led the Eagles' defense with three blocks, in addition to two blocks from Healey, Henson, and Milho,
The Eagles remain at home for a huge showdown against Heart South Division leader MNU Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House. MidAmerica currently sports an unblemished record at 15-0 and 8-0 in the conference.
