Baldwin City, Kan. - The No. 20 Central Methodist Volleyball team completed its second consecutive season-sweep over the weekend, this time over Heart South Divison foe Baker University Saturday night in Baldwin City, Kan.
The Eagles defeated Baker by scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-10.
With the win, Central improves to 17-7 and 10-6 in conference action, while the Wildcats fall to 6-17 and 4-10 in the Heart. The Eagles have won 11 consecutive matches against Baker dating back to the 2016 season.
As a team, Central finished the evening hitting .488 with 49 kills and only seven attack errors. The defense held Baker to a .169 hitting percentage, forcing 15 Wildcat errors.
Callie Henson led CMU with 14 kills on 18 swings for a .667 hitting percentage. Freshman middle hitter Joana Milho tallied eight kills on 13 swings paired with a match-high four blocks.
Shea Luby recorded seven kills, eight digs and two blocks. Marina Alonso dished out a team-high 25 assists in addition to two digs. Fellow setter Gabi Owczarek also reached double-digit assists with 17.
Krystal Brauner led the defense with 14 digs and also added two assists and two service aces.
The Eagles will next host Culver-Stockton College Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House as part of senior day.
