Fayette, Mo. - The No. 20 Central Methodist volleyball program earned a three-set sweep over Culver-Stockton College by scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-15 Saturday afternoon inside Puckett Field House.

Prior to the match, Central honored its 2022 Senior Class as part of Senior Day festivities which included; Marina Alonso, Shea Luby, Rebecca Neighbors, and Delaney Miller. 

CMU now stands at 18-7 and 11-6 in conferene action, while the Wildcats fall to 17-7 and 9-6 in the Heart. 

Central's offense came out firing on all cylinders, hitting a cool .548 in the first set. Despite only hitting .231 in set two, the Eagles' defense held Culver-Stockton to .085 with five attack errors. 

Central's defense held Culver to negative hitting in the third and final set, and closed the match on a 7-0 scoring run. 

The Eagles finished the afternoon hitting .316. Reigning Heart Attacker of the Week Callie Henson led the charge with 12 kills in addition to four blocks and two digs. 

Luby was masterful on both offense and defense, as the native of Hillbsboro, Mo., earned a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. Luby played a crucial role in the final points of the match, tallying four of her 10 kills through the final six points of the third set. 

Miller finished the afternoon with eight kills on 18 swings, good enough for a .444 hitting percentage. Annabelle Maassen added seven kills, while the duo of Neighbors and Joana Milho tallied six kills apiece. 

Alonso dished out a match-high 26 assists along with 11 digs for a double-double. Fellow setter Gabi Owczarek dished out 15 assists. On the defensive side, Krystal Brauner recorded a match-high 17 digs. 

Central will next face the Evangel Valor Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. in Springfield, Mo. The Eagles won the earlier match in four sets back on Sept. 6 in Puckett Field House.
