Lexington, Ky. - Central Methodist Volleyball Players Callie Henson and Krystal Brauner were tabbed as AVCA NAIA All-Midwest Region selections by the America Volleyball Coaches Association this week. 

Each of the 10 regions named 14 student-athletes to the All-Region team, and eight players earned honorable mention honors. Each region also selected seven "of the year" award winners. All players and award winners were chosen by the NAIA Selection Committee. 

Henson was named an All-Midwest Region First Team selection after earning All-Region honors in 2021. The native of Jefferson City, Mo. was named the Heart Attacker of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection after leading the Eagles in both kills (364), and kills/set (3.47) this season.

Henson appeared in all 30 matches for CMU, racking up double-digit kills on 22 different occassions including a season's best 20 against Bellevue on Sept. 2. Henson finished 2022 ranked second in the Heart in kills/set, third in kills, and fifth in hitting percentage (.309). She was twice named Heart Attacker of the Week, and is now a three-time First Team All-Conference selection. 

Henson will enter her senior season in 2023 with 1201 career kills, good enough for second all-time in program history. 

Brauner was tabbed as a Regional Honorable Mention Performer for the first time in her career. The Jefferson City, Mo. native anchored Central's defense, racking up 527 total digs in all 30 matches this season.

Brauner is the all-time career record holder in digs with 2,191 and ranked second in the conference in digs/set (5.12). She was named the Heart Defender of the Week on three different occassions and tabbed as a Heart First Team All-Conference selection for the fourth consecutive season.
