Columbia, Mo. - After a tough Thursday evening, the No. 19 Central Methodist Volleyball program responded with a three-set sweep over Stephens College Friday night in Columbia, Mo.
Central took down the Stars by scores of 25-9, 25-20, and 25-23.
Joana Milho led the offense with 15 kills on 29 swings for a .379 hitting percentage. She also finished with seven digs and a block.
Hailey Dreier followed with six kills while the trio of Mia Trankler, Annabelle Maassen, and Lauren Strange each registered four.
Giulia Gainelli dished out 15 assists while Mariah Bostic-Jones collected 14. On the defensive side, Rita Campos finished the evening with 13 digs, followed by Maassen with eight and Lauryn Farish seven.
As a team, Central aced Stephens eight total times, with Alice Fernandes leading the way for the Eagles with three service aces.
CMU registered a .220 hitting percentage compared to .044 for the Stars.
The Eagles now stand at 8-2, and will turn their attention to conference play. Central will open Heart action against MidAmerica Nazarene Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
