Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time in her career, Central Methodist super senior Annabelle Maassen was named the Heart Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week by the conference office Monday.
The senior captain led the No. 21 Eagles to a 3-0 record this past week, including a three-set sweep of No. 17 Park University in the Heart Conference Network Game of the Week last Tuesday in Puckett Field House. Central also picked up key road wins over Clarke University and Mount Mercy during their weekend roadtrip in Iowa.
Maassen totaled 31 kills while averaging 3.44 kills/set and compiling a hitting percentage of .321. The Jefferson City, Missouri native also recorded 28 total digs, averaging 3.11 digs per set.
In her career so far, she has tallied 925 kills and 1400 digs, both good enough to put her in the Top 5 all-time of the CMU career record books.
Maassen and the Eagles are currently in second place in the Heart Regular Season standings. CMU will look to continue its climb to the top with a home match against Baker University, Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
