Gonzato Recognized as Heart Attacker of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist sophomore outside hitter Martina Gonzato was named the Heart of America Attacker of the Week by the conference office Monday.

It marks the first Heart Weekly award for Gonzato and the fourth for the CMU Volleyball program this season.

The native of Vicenza, Italy was a force in Central's three wins over Missouri Valley, Grand View and William Penn this past week.

Gonzato averaged 4.88 kills/set while hitting .435. Against Grand View, she had the best game of her career, registering 20 kills which put her in a tie her for the fifth most in a four-set match in program history.

Altogether, Gonzato tallied 44 total kills on the week in addition to seven digs and five blocks.

Gonzato and the No. 21 Eagles head to Atchison, Kansas for a huge matchup against No. 24 Benedictine College Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 p.m.
