Kansas City, Mo. - For the second time in 2024, Central Methodist Junior outside hitter Joana Milho was named the Heart of America Attacker of the Week by the conference office Monday.
It marks the second straight week the Eagles have earned Attacker of the Week honors by the conference, as sophomore Martina Gonzato earned the award last week.
Additionally, the Eagles have now earned Heart Attacker of the Week recognition for the fourth time this season (Milho - Sept. 9, Annabelle Maassen - Oct. 14, Gonzato - Oct. 28, and Milho - Nov. 4).
The Lisboa, Portugal native had 13 kills on Tuesday in a sweep over No. 24 Benedictine College. She posted an impressive .550 hitting percentage on the night combined with five service aces and 11 digs.
Milho tallied seven kills as Central made quick work of Culver-Stockton Friday night. She added three blocks and two digs to her credit and helped lead the Eagles to their first outright Heart Regular Season Championship since 2004.
Altogether, Milho averaged 3.33 kills/set and hit .366.
Milho and the Eagles will close out the regular season against Park University on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m. in Parkville, Mo.
