Cedar Rapids, Iowa - The Central Methodist Volleyball program secured its second consecutive win in the state of Iowa with a four-set win over Mount Mercy Saturday afternoon in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Eagles defeated the Mustangs by scores of 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, and 25-23.
With the win, Central now stands at 13-6 and 5-4 in the Heart of America, while MMU falls to 10-7 and 5-5 in conference action.
Three different Eagles registered double-digit kills with Martina Gonzato leading the way with 12, followed by Luciana Araujo and Joana Milho with 11 each.
Senior middle Hailey Dreier was Central's most efficient hitter, tallying eight kills on 19 swings for a .421 hitting percentage.
Vitoria Martins led the defense with 27 digs while also adding six assists and a service ace. Milho finished the afternoon with 24 digs to record a double double. The senior from Lisboa, Portugal also tallied three service aces and two blocks.
Araujo joined Milho in the double-double club with 11 digs.
Mariah Bostic-Jones dished out 27 assists and recorded eight digs, while Ramsey Spinks added 19 assists with three digs.
Summer Hake had an outstanding day defensively, finishing the afternoon with nine total blocks, while also adding seven kills to her statline.
As a team, the Eagles recorded 12.5 total blocks.
Central returns home to host Missouri Valley College Friday, Oct. 10 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
