Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Volleyball program defeated Heart foe Baker University in four sets at the annual Pink Out game by scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-18, and 25-18. 

With the win, Central improves its overall record to 16-6 and 8-4 in the Heart of America. Baker falls to 13-7 and 7-5 in conference play.

Central Methodist edged out a tight 25-23 victory in the opening set. Baker answered with a hard-fought 26-24 win in set two, but the Eagles regained control, closing out the match with back-to-back 25-18 wins in the third and fourth sets.

Junior Martina Gonzato led all attackers with 12 kills, followed by Joana Milho with 10. Milho also added 11 digs and a service ace.

The trio of Luciana Araujo, Hailey Dreier, and Riley Kortkamp each added nine kills, while Jefferson College transfer Summer Hake added four kills with zero errors.

Sophomore setter Mariah Bostic-Jones dished out a team-best 27 assists while also tallying five digs and a service ace.

Freshman Ramsey Spinks dished out 21 assists, recorded four digs, and had a service ace.  

Brazilian native Vitoria Martins finished the night with a team-leading 21 digs. 

The Eagles remain at home and will take on William Woods University Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7:00 p.m. in Puckett Field House.
