Fayette, Mo. – The Central Methodist Volleyball program swept William Woods in straight sets Tuesday night, winning by scores of 25-23, 25-16, and 25-21.
With the win, Central now stands at 17-6 and 9-4 in the Heart of America. Woods falls to 17-8 and 8-5 in conference action.
The Eagles delivered a consistent offensive performance, highlighted by a dominant second set in which they recorded 15 kills with zero errors for an impressive .500 hitting percentage. Across the match, Central tallied 44 kills to William Woods' 34 and maintained a strong .306 team hitting percentage overall.
Senior Joana Milho led the Eagles' offense with 10 kills and added a match-high three service aces. Fellow senior Leticia Barea followed closely with nine kills on the night.
The trio of Hailey Dreier, Martina Gonzato, and Summer Hake each contributed seven kills, with Hake contributing a perfect performance for an impressive .636 hitting percentage.
Freshman Ramsey Spinks dished out 21 assists, followed closely by Mariah Bostic-Jones with 20.
On the defensive end, freshman libero Vitoria Martins anchored the back row with 11 digs, as Milho and Portugal native Ines Paredes each added nine.
The Eagles return to action Friday night in Olathe, Kansas, to take on MidAmerica Nazarene at 7 p.m.
