Olathe, Kan. - The Central Methodist Volleyball program dropped a Heart of America Conference match on the road against MidAmerica Nazarene Friday night in Olathe, Kansas.
Central fell to the Pioneers by scores of 24-26, 23-25, and 18-25.
Central drops to 17-7 and 9-5 in the Heart, while the Pioneers improve to 20-4 and 14-1 in conference action.
The Eagles battled point for point with the Pioneers through the first two sets, never allowing more than a four-point lead. However, the Eagles' defense could not stop the Pioneers, who pulled away for the sweep in the third set.
Senior Joana Milho led the team in hitting with 10 kills, followed by Washington state native Hailey Dreier with eight, and Junior Martina Gonzato with seven.
Jefferson College transfer Summer Hake held the highest hitting percentage of .444 with five kills on nine swings.
Sophomore setter, Mariah Bostic-Jones, dished out 19 assists, followed by freshman Ramsey Spinks with seven.
Freshman libero Vitoria Martins tallied 12 digs, accompanied by senior Lauryn Farish with nine.
The Eagles continue conference play on the road with a match against Park University Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Parkville, Missouri.
