Columbia, Mo. – The Central Methodist Volleyball program posted a perfect 2-0 record at the Columbia College Triangular on Wednesday evening. The tri featured CMU, Columbia College, and Crowley's Ridge College.

The Eagles opened the night with a dominant sweep over Crowley's Ridge, earning set wins of 25-15, 25-13, and 25-9. Senior Joana Milho powered the offense with seven kills, while sophomore Riley Kortkamp added six kills and hit an impressive .429.

The trio of Lauryn Farish, Ramsey Spinks, and Milho each tallied three service aces.

Spinks paced the offense with 11 assists, followed by Mariah Bostic-Jones with nine. As a team, Central hit .214 while holding the Pioneers to a -.045 mark.

In their second match of the evening, the Eagles carried their momentum into another sweep against the Cougars by scores of 25-19, 27-25, and 25-17.

Junior Martina Gonzato led the way with 15 kills on 32 swings for a .312 hitting percentage, while Milho followed with 12 kills, seven digs, and a .233 hitting clip.

With her 12th and final kill of the night against the Cougars, Milho eclipsed 1,000 career kills. She is just the fourth known player in program history to reach the milestone, joining Callie Henson (2019-23), Darcy Latham (2014-17), and Madison Bond (2014-17) who all reached 1,000 kills during their respective careers. 

Bostic-Jones finished with 24 assists and nine digs, while Spinks contributed 22 assists.

Defensively, freshman Vitoria Martins anchored the back row with 22 digs.

With the two victories, Central improves to 20-7 overall. The Eagles return to conference play Friday night, hosting Benedictine College inside Puckett Field House at 7:00 p.m.
