Eagles Finish Second at Missouri Collegiate State Championship

St. Louis, Mo. - The No. 12 Central Methodist Women's Wrestling team posted a second-place team finish at the Missouri Women's Collegiate State Championship in St. Louis, Mo. Saturday morning.

The event featured eight teams from multiple college levels from around the area including; Lindenwood, CMU, Missouri Baptist, Westminster University, Avila, Fontbonne University, University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy, and Quincy University.

As a team, Central finished as the tournament runner-up with 154.5 points, just edging Missouri Baptist who tallied 151 points. NCAA Division I member Lindenwood won the tournament with 183.5 points.

The Eagles improved two spots from last year's fourth-place standing at the event.

All 13 of Central's wrestlers placed, including five grapplers earning spots in the championship match of their respective weight classes. Of those five, three Eagles won their weight classes including Caitlyn Thorne at 116 pounds, Skye Realin at 136, and Jaycee Foeller at 191.

The Eagles will next compete in the Avila Dual Tournament Friday, Dec. 16 at 8:00 a.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
