Oskaloosa, Iowa - The Central Methodist Women's Wrestling team posted its highest-ever finish at the Heart of America Women's Wrestling Conference Championships Saturday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Central placed third out of seven teams with 136 total points. Grand View won the championship for the third-straight year with 191.5 points, followed by Iowa Wesleyan with a second place standing with 148.5 points.

Individually, CMU had a solid showing in each weight class represented, which included two conference champions, two runner-up finishes, a third place finish, and four fourth place finishes.

Wrestlers that placed first, second, or third in their weight class would earn First, Second, or Third Team All-Conference honors.

Sophomore Caitlyn Thorne became the progam's first-ever conference champion in the 116-pound weight class. Fellow sophomore Skye Realin also earned a top spot on the podium winning the conference championship at 130 pounds.

Caitlyn Davis and Jaycee Foeller each advanced to the championship bout in the 155 pound and 191 pound bracket respectively, both earning runner-up finishes.

Sophomore Lillian Gough placed third at 143 pounds, while Victoria Nunez (109 pounds), Hannah Hall (116 pounds), Allison Hynes (123 pounds), and Shianne Whited (170 pounds) each finished fourth.

For her efforts this season and at the conference championship, Davis was named the Heart Co-Freshman of the Year.

Realin was named the Heart Co-Tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler, and Head Coach Brieana Delgado was named the Heart Coach of the Year.

Each of these wrestlers have earned qualification into the first-ever NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship, set to begin Friday, March 10 in Jamestown, N.D.
