DES MOINES, IA. – The Central Methodist dance team placed fifth at the 2018 Heart of America Athletic Conference championship, hosted by Grand View University, Saturday afternoon.
Finishing with a total score of 59.71, to finish fifth out of seven teams in the competition. The Eagles finished ahead of Graceland University (7th) and Benedictine College (6th).
Avila University won the competition, with a final score of 79.79 from the judges.
Central Methodist scored a seven, out of 10 points, from two judges in the choreography category and all threes, out of a possible five points, from the judges in the performance impression. The Eagles earned an overall average of 6.2 points in uniformity, as well.
Scarlett McMullen (JR/Palmyra, Mo.) earned the honors of being named to the 2018 Heart Conference All-Conference Dance Team, at the competition.
The dance team will return to action on February 11th at the Lindenwood University-Belleville Dual in Belleville, Illinois.
