Five Eagles Collect NAIA All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Five members of the Central Methodist University competitive dance program were named to the list of NAIA All-Americans, released by the national office on Tuesday. To achieve NAIA All-America or Honorable Mention status, student-athletes participated in a try-out following their regional performances last weekend.

Officials judge the athletes during the try-out and All-Americans are determined by the judges' scores. An athlete must score at least a total of 12 in order to be considered for honorable mention and one must score at least a total of 16 in order to be considered for All-America. The CCD Coaches' Association officers then confirm the list of scores and athletes.

Kaitlin Larson earned All-America status after a stellar performance, becoming the first competitive dance athlete in program history to receive above Honorable Mention status.

Kadee Dempsey (SR/Columbia, Mo.) received Honorable Mention status for the fourth season in a row, becoming just the 6th Central Methodist athlete on record to become a four-time NAIA All-American in any sport.

Dempsey was joined on the Honorable Mention list by fellow teammates Grace McIntosh (SO/Hannibal, Mo.), Kelsey Brown (SO/Lake St. Louis, Mo.), at Matt Fohn (SR/Lebanon, Mo.).
