Canton, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer team won its third game in its last four matches with a 3-0 victory over Culver-Stockton College Saturday night in Canton, Missouri.
CMU is now 5-2-4 and 3-1-3 in the Heart of America. CS-C drops to 2-5-4 and 1-4-2 in conference action.
Matteo Giora scored his team leading sixth goal of the year, assisted by Jackson Wilbers, in the 33rd minute to give CMU a 1-0 lead.
Central added to its lead less than four minutes later, as Pelayo Suarez found the back of the net. Wilbers picked up another assist on the score.
The Eagles' final goal of the match came via Robin Vandewalle at the beginning of the second half. Central's defense only allowed eight Culver-Stockton shots, with none coming on frame for the entirity of the match.
As a team, Central finished the evening with 15 shots and seven on goal.
Ilhan Dervisevic led the offense, taking four total shots including two shots on goal.
Linus Bergsvag picked up his first career win in between the posts, playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Central will head to St. Louis for a quick non-conference road trip against Health Sciences and Pharmacy Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 3:00 p.m.
