Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist indoor track & field programs continue to stand out on the conference level, as sophomore Kaitlyn Weber and senior Taylor Bottomley swept the Heart Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors, as announced Monday afternoon.
Weber, a sophomore from Wentzville, Mo., posted a pair of first-place finishes in both the triple jump and long jump at the final meet of the Graceland Indoor Series this past weekend in Lamoni, Iowa. She concluded the meet with a mark of 10.28 meters in the triple jump and 5.07 meters in the long jump.
Bottomley once again claimed victory in both the men's shot put and weight throw. The senior won the shot put with a final mark of 16.66 meters, and the weight throw with a final toss of 18.09 meters, almost four meters further than the second-place finisher. This week's honor marks Bottomley's fourth Heart Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award this season.
The Eagles will next compete in the Gorilla Indoor Classic on Feb. 12-13 in Pittsburg, Kan.
