Yankton, S.D. - The Central Methodist indoor track & field program started strong in the first two days of the 2021 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships this week in Yankton, S.D.
On the women's side, sophomore racewalker Sarah King set a new personal best in the 3000m racewalk with a final time of 19:18. King finished the event in 15th place.
For the men, the 4x400m relay team made up of Mohammed Nyaoga, Jacob Fritz, Curtis Johns, and Nehemiah Colyer recorded the second-fastest time of all competing teams with a final mark of 3:19.30, just .05 from the top spot. The four have earned a spot in the finals which are set to take place Saturday.
Senior Hayden Hackmen put on one of his best performances of his career, as the Glasgow, Mo. native finished 10th in the heptathlon. He concluded the two-day event with a season's best 4707 points, including the top spot in the shot put with a final toss of 13.52 meters.
In addition to the men's 4x400m relay final Saturday, senior thrower Taylor Bottomley will compete in both the men's weight throw and shot put.
