Kansas City, Mo. - After an impressive outing at the NAIA/JUCO Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan. this past weekend, the Eagle's duo of Taylor Bottomley and Kailey Johnson were tabbed as the Heart Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week by the conference office Monday.
It marks the second time Johnson and Bottomley have been recognized by the conference this season.
Bottomley, a senior from Harrisburg, Mo., dominated the competition in the weight throw with a mark of 20.21 meters, nearly four meters better than second place. The mark matched his own school record and was good enough to hit the 'A' standard to qualify for the national meet.
Johnson won the 60 meter hurdles from a field of 19. Her time of 9.00 flat hit the 'A' standard and punched her ticket to the national meet. She was also apart of the 4x400 meter relay team that won the event in a time of 4:01. 94 seconds.
Central is next set to compete in the UCM relays hosted by Central Missouri beginning Friday, Jan. 28 at 3:00 p.m. in Warrensburg, Mo.
