Kansas City, Mo. - For the third time this season, senior thrower Taylor Bottomley has been named the Heart Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Bottomley was also recognized by the Heart on Jan. 24 and Jan. 10.
At the UCM Relays this past weekend, he finished in first-place in the men's weight throw with a mark of 21.04 meters.
Bottomley also competed in the shot put and finished second overall with a toss of 16.36 meters. Both his marks in the weight throw and shot put hit the 'A standard for national qualification.
Overall this season, the Harrisburg, Mo. native has reached new heights in the throws. He currently has the eighth-best mark in the nation in the shot put, and is No. 1 in the weight throw with a school-best 20.21 meters.
Central is next set to compete at the Bearcat Open hosted by Northwest Missouri State Saturday, Feb. 5 in Maryville, Mo.
