Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track & Field program hosted the CMU Invite Friday and Saturday at Hairston Track & Davis Field. 

The meet featured 21 different programs from across the midwest. 

Gizel Clayton continues to impress in the sprints, as she broke the school record in the 100m dash in 11.89 seconds. In addition, she hit the NAIA National Qualifying 'A' standard in the event. Clayton followed that up with a first-place finish in the 200m dash in a time of 24.90 seconds. 

Dayana Montenegro finished third in the same event in 24.96 seconds and was the runner-up in the 400m with a time of 57.23. Yanira Paninka placed second in the 400m hurdles in 1:06.88. 

Renee Finke competed in the 100m hurdles and ran a new personal best of 15.40 seconds for a third place finish. 

Kjirsten Guilford earned a third place finish in the 800 in 2:22.51 and Baileigh Morris won the 5000m racewalk with a time of 29:40.11. 

In the field events, Baylee Beard broke the school records in both the shot put and the hammer throw. The freshman hit the national qualifying 'B' standard in the shot with a throw of 13.40 meters to win the event.

She followed that up with a throw of 51.20 meters in the hammer, hitting the 'A' standard and placing second. 

Kali Brown finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 38.55 meters. 

Delaney Miller won the high jump at 1.60 meters. Carter Hawkins won the pole vault with a vault of 2.95 meters, while Amara Reichert placed fourth.

Sarah Johnson and Finke finished 3-4 in the triple jump with marks of 10.54 and 10.22 meters respectively.  

On the men's side, Adam Trachsel posted a second place finish in the 100m dash in a time of 10.72 seconds. Mohammed Nyaoga ran the 400m in 49.40 seconds to finish in third, and Adrian Watson ran the 400m hurdles in 55.58 seconds for a third-place standing. 

Grant Engel competed in the 10,000m run, finishing third in 35:13.07. The 4x100m relay team of Trachsel, Curtis Johns, Nyaoga, and Watson placed second in the event with a time of 43.68 seconds.

Ethan Smith won the decathlon with 5998 points, hitting the NAIA National Qualifying standard. 

In the field events, Jaxon Hiser won the men's pole vault while Parker Yager placed second, both hitting a vault of 4.20 meters. 

Jamel Jones competed in the triple jump, finishing second with a mark of 13.36 meters. Colder Evans won the discus with a National Qualifying 'B' standard throw of 48.90 meters, a new personal best. In addition, Evans placed second in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 52.12 meters. 

Evan Workman placed second in the javelin with a throw of 45.31 meters. 

The Eagles will next travel to Jefferson City, Mo. to compete in the Lincoln Open Saturday, April 8.
