Overland Park, Kan. - For the first time this season, Central Methodist sophomore Tyrone Summerall was named the Heart Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office on Monday.
Summerall earns the honor after a strong showing at the CMU Invite this past weekend at Davis Field and Hairston Track.
The native of Jacksonville, Florida, won the 400m hurdles in 51.57 seconds, hitting the NAIA A standard and setting a new school record. It is also the No. 1 time in the NAIA this season.
Additionally, Summerall was a part of the 4x400m relay team that finished first and set a new school record with a time of 3:11.21. That time is the second-fastest in the country so far in 2026.
