Columbia, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Cross Country team posted an eighth place finish at the Larry Young Invitational Friday night in Columbia, Mo. 

The 8K featured 128 athletes from 16 different schools from around the region. 

Junior Meshack Kiptanui was the highest finisher for the Eagles, placing 12th in a time of 26:26.13. Newcomer Elvis Kipkosgei finished 33rd with a time of 27:15.07, followed by Grant Engel (37th, 27:19.70) and Exavier Coburn (85th, 29:40.02). 

Jack Schiffhauer rounded out the top five Eagle runners, finishing the 8K in 29:43.89. 

Zy'Shonne Cowans and Isaiah Barg also ran for the Eagles Friday night. 

Central will next compete in the Haskell Invite Saturday, Oct. 7 in Lawrence, Kan.
