Central Methodist Tops NFCA NAIA All-Academic Teams

The Central Methodist University softball team ranked first among 2010-11 NAIA teams in the 2011 NFCA Top 10 All-Academic Team rankings, announced Wednesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

The 2010-11 Lady Eagles boasted a 3.627 team GPA on a 4.0 scale to rank first in the NAIA division and third among all divisions on the All-Academic Teams. NCAA Division III Northwestern (Minn.) led all teams with a 3.694 GPA.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Central Methodist softball team has ranked in the NFCA Top 10. The Lady Eagles were seventh in 2008-09, eighth in 2009-10, and second a year ago.

The NFCA Academic Awards program honors collegiate and high school teams for their GPAs for the 2010-11 academic year. To view the complete list of this year's NFCA Top 10 All-Academic Teams, visit www.nfca.org.
