Townley's Rogers State trip blog: Monday

Townley's Rogers State trip blog: Monday
Mary Kate Townley, a junior outfielder for the Eagles, will post a daily blog and photos from behind the scenes of the 2013 National Championship Opening Round in Claremore, Okla.

Previous Blog: Sunday

Hello all,

Today the CMU softball team got to sleep in a little, which was much needed and refreshing. We were able to eat breakfast a the hotel before we went to a local high school in Claremore for an hour of hitting practice.

Once we were finished hitting, we were off to get lunch. We had the privilege of eating at Billy Sims barbecue restaurant which is a location where there were "Welcome NAIA Regional Teams" banners. We felt welcome and enjoyed the local barbecue!

We departed from the hotel at 5:30 p.m. and played hacky sack until we took the field at 7:30. We faced the third seed, Rogers State. We played a tough game but fell short and unfortunately lost 2-0. We are back on the field tomorrow at 12:00.

The CMU softball team wants to thank everyone for their support and we hope to have the same support as we travel through the regional tournament! Help cheer the Eagles on at 12:00 tomorrow.

Thank you,

M.K.
