Fayette, Mo. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced their weekly Player of the Week award winners on Monday afternoon; sponsored by Hillyard. Central Methodist senior Alyssa Lilly (SR/Wentzville, Mo.) was named The Heart softball player of the week.
"Alyssa has had a great start to the season and has really been a true leader on offense," said CMU head softball coach Pat Reardon. "I am proud of her hard work and hope she continues to have a great offensive year for us. This is a great reward for her hard work."
Alyssa Lilly and the Eagles faced the University of St. Mary to begin the week. Central would drop the game by just one run in nine innings, but Alyssa Lilly led the Eagles with three RBIs in five at bats.
This past Sunday, Lilly had a tremendous showing in the double header against William Woods University. In game one against the Owls, Lilly managed to knock in three runs with four at bats. In game two, with only five at bats she managed to finish the game with six RBIs.
The 20th ranked Eagles return to action on March 3rd in Gulf Shores, Ala for the Gulf Coast Invitational. The (#20) Eagles will start the invitational by facing Spring Hill College at 5:00pm and Saint Thomas University at 7:00pm.
