Steeby, Lilly earn NFCA All-Region

LOUISVILLE, Ky.
– Two Central Methodist University softball players added to their individual season accolades on Friday when shortstop Hannah Steeby and outfielder Alyssa Lilly were both named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Second-Team All-Midwest Region honors.

Both players have already been named to the First-Team All-Heart of America Athletic Conference honors.

Steeby (left photo), a 5-3 freshman from St. Joseph, Mo., ranked fifth in the Heart in runs batted in per game, knocking in 0.96 per contest. She also ranked 20th in the nation in triples (5), 26th in triples per game (0.109), 29th in in total bases per game (2.30), 39th in slugging percentage (.711), 41st in total bases (106) and 46th in home runs (10).

She was second on the Eagles in hitting, with a .349 average, with 52 hits and 43 runs scored. She posted 14 doubles, to go along with her triple and home run totals. She drove in 44 runs on the year, tallying 106 total bases.

Lilly (right photo), a 5-6 senior from Wentzville, Mo., ranked fifth in the Heart in RBIs per game (0.96). She was third on the CMU squad in hitting, posting a .347 batting average. She totaled 50 hits and 18 runs. She connected with 12 doubles, two triples and five home runs. She also drove in 43 runs on the year. She owned a .563 slugging percentage.

CMU finished third in the Southern Division standings of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, posting a 17-13 league mark and a 26-23 season record. The Eagles lost in the third round of the conference tournament.
