LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released 32 student-athletes from 26 different institutions on the 2018 NFCA NAIA All-America teams, Wednesday.
Among the 32 student-athletes, Hannah Steeby (SO/St. Joseph, Mo.) was named as a First Team All-American for her efforts on the field this year. She led the No. 21 nationally ranked Eagles to its fifth postseason appearance in six years and advanced to the finals in of the Fayette bracket in the NAIA Opening Round.
In her second year, Steeby was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week back in early March and earned the highest recognition for field players in the conference by being named Heart Player of the Year. She finished as a First Team All-Conference and NAIA First Team All-American performer and led the nation in home runs with 24. She concluded the year with a .371 batting average and a .880 slugging percentage for a team topping 76 RBIs and 55 runs scored.
Just In her two years at Central Methdist, thus far, she carries a batting average of .361. She has tallied 34 home runs and 120 RBIs, along with 114 hits and 98 runs scored. She holds a career slugging average of .801 and on-base percentage of .441.
