Kansas City, Mo. - After four stellar outings this past week, Central Methodist senior pitcher Madison Love was named the Heart of America Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Love earned four victories for the Eagles including wins over LSU-Alexandria, Louisana College, Tabor, and No. 16 Central Baptist.
The New Bloomfield, Mo. native tossed a no-hitter in the 13-0 win over Louisiana College on Feb. 23, striking out seven. In the 9-0 victory against Tabor, she was one-hit away from back-to-back no-hitters, as she allowed just one hit and struck out nine batters, with two walks.
Love led CMU to an upset win over No. 16 Central Baptist College, pitching all seven innings with seven K's. Overall, she averaged eight strikeouts/game and finished the week with a 1.46 earned run average.
The Eagles continue tournament action with a trip to Oklahoma City, Okla. to partake in the Red Dirt Classic on March 5-6.
