Cronin tabbed as Heart Pitcher of the Week

Cronin tabbed as Heart Pitcher of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist junior pitcher Keighlan Cronin was named the Heart Pitcher of the Week, as announed by the confernece office Monday afternoon. 

Cronin picked up two more wins this past week pushing her record to a perfect 8-0. Against Saint Mary on March 11, she tossed a complete game, giving up only with two runs on two hits. She retired 21-of-26 batters including eight strikeouts.

In the conference opener against Benedictine, Cronin pitched her third-straight complete game, tossing all seven innings and giving up only one run on two hits with 12 strikeouts. Through eight games this season, the St. Charles, Mo. native is ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 1 in the conference in opponent batting average (0.106) and No. 6 in hits allowed/nine innings (2.47), also No. 1 in the Heart. 

The Eagles return to the diamond for a doubleheader against conference newcomer Park University Wednesday, March 17 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
