Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist junior softball pitcher Keighlan Cronin was named the Heart Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the Heart office Monday afternoon.
During the week, Cronin earned three shut-out wins, pushing her overall record to a perfect 12-0. She also averaged double-digit strikeouts and recorded two one-hitters. Overall, the St. Charles, Mo. native pitched 18 total innings, giving up no runs on just six hits and three walks with 34 K's.
Against Evangel, Cronin pitched seven innings, giving up just four hits and striking out 10 batters. In two shutout wins against Graceland and Peru State, the junior pitcher only allowed one hit in each game and struck out a total of 24 batters.
Entering this week, Cronin is ranked No. 3 in the NAIA in opponent batting average (0.102) and hits allowed/nine innings (2.36). She is also ranked No. 6 in wins (12) and is in the Top-30 in three other statistical categories.
Central is set to play Heart rival Missouri Valley College Wednesday, March 31 in Marshall, Mo., with game times set for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
