Gorman and Cronin garner weekly Heart honors

Kansas City, Mo. – The No. 6 Central Methodist softball team garnered two Heart Athletes of the week, as announced by the conference office Monday. Keighlan Cronin was selected as the pitcher of the week for the third time this season while Kelli Gorman received player of the week honors for the first time.

Cronin added four wins to her season total this past week, improving her record to 19-1 overall. The junior finished with a 0.27 ERA through 26 innings pitched. She struck out 24 batters and collected double-digit strikeouts against both MNU (11) and Clarke (10).

Gorman wrapped up an impressive week with a .464 batting average. Through eight games, the senior collected 13 RBIs, 13 hits, nine runs, four home runs, and three doubles while drawing three walks. The St. Charles, Mo. native is ranked No. 2 in the NAIA in RBI (56) and RBI/game game (1.474) and No. 3 for in home runs (13).

Central will be back on Cox Field Thursday, April 22 to face Baker for a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 p.m.
